This school fails to warn you that for fifth grade and up, you have to buy the science kit. I am listing the prices for everyone to be advised because I wasted all of summer preparing for this school when I should have been trying to get him into actual free online virtual schools. Try txvs.org. They say if you qualify for free and reduced lunch you get assistance but my family is a few hundred dollars above the requirement for SNAP so that’s not an option. 5th - $55 6 -$36 7 - $40 Bio - $30 Chem - $75
I attended this school for 5 years and had no issues until they switched to their own curriculum. While the STEM classes were fine, It was the history classes that concerned me. I know GCISD has a history of racism but I never noticed it in my school until after the shift from Connexus to their own written curriculum. i think that university prep is not for everyone.It is a ok school but I need to be in a classroom away from distractions.
